Copperfield Development Flood Study – Concord

Copperfield, Inc. is developing a large mixed use commercial development in the City of Concord. The development is located in a FEMA Zone “A “Area within the City of Concord.  The developer wanted to fill a portion of the site that was designated as Zone A on a FEMA FIRM map.  The developer needed to determine where a stream crossing could be located and where fill material could be placed in the floodplain without increasing the 100-year flood elevations along Royal Oaks Branch.  The analysis included the use of HEC1 models to determine stream flows and HECRAS Models to determine the 100-year flood elevation and floodways for existing and proposed conditions.  The study was completed in the spring of 2006.
