Stormwater Wetland – Alamance Community College
Alley, Williams, Carmen, & King, Inc. worked with Alamance Community College to build a 300 space parking lot to allow ACC to provide parking for an increase in enrollment. In order to offset the runoff from the parking lot, a stormwater wetland was built to comply with the City of Graham’s NPDES Phase II stormwater ordinance. The wetland treats approximately 3.5 acres of impervious area, has a surface area of 12,000 square feet, and was planted by ACC’s horticultural department. The parking lot and wetland were both constructed in 57 days at the end of the summer in 2010.
