Sealed Bids will be received by the Town of Swepsonville (Owner), 2747 Darrell Newton Dr, Swepsonville, North Carolina 27253, at the Swepsonville Town Hall Building, until 2:00 PM, Wednesday July 9th, 2025, for the E. Main St Water Main Replacement.

At said place and time, and promptly thereafter, all Bids that have been duly received will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The proposed work will consist of the installation of new water infrastructure in the vicinity of SR 2159 (E Main St) Swepsonville, North Carolina. The primary work will include the following items and appurtenances:

1) Installation of approximately 1,300 LF 12” DIP Water Main, including open cut trenching of SR 2159 and SR 2158.

2) Installation of approximately 70 LF 6” DIP Water Main.

3) Replacement of approximately 310 LF of driveway pipe.

4) Abandonment of 8” water main and two fire hydrants.

5) Connection of proposed waterlines to existing 6”, and 12” waterlines and connection to existing domestic services.

6) Testing and Chlorination of the proposed water main.

7) Trench line patching in accordance with NCDOT standards including approximately 55 tons of B 25.0C and 175 tons of S 9.5B asphalt plant mix.

All bids must be in accordance with the Bidding Documents on file at the office of Alley,
Williams, Carmen & King, Inc., Post Office Box 1179 / 740 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC27216-1179.

Copies of Bidding Documents may be obtained from Alley, Williams, Carmen & King, Inc. or a digital set can be downloaded by completing the form below.

Bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of North Carolina, duly licensed accordingly for
the appropriate section of Bid. A 5% Bid security must accompany each Bid.

Each Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Construction Performance Bond and a
Construction Payment Bond as security for the faithful performance and the payment of all bids
and obligations arising from the performance of the Contract.

A Pre-bid meeting will be held at the Swepsonville Town Hall Building, 2474 Darrell Newton Dr, Swepsonville, North Carolina 27253 on Thursday, June 26th, at 2:00 PM. All bidders are strongly encouraged to attend.

No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
