Main Street Reconstruction – Kannapolis
The development of the North Carolina Research Campus dramatically changed the appearance and character of Kannapolis. In conjunction with the NCRC development, Main Street was redesigned. This project included the reconstruction of 2,700 linear feet of 2-lane urban roadway between North Loop Road and First Street in Kannapolis, NC including demolition of the existing roadway, installation of curb and gutter, sanitary sewer, planted medians, bike lanes, storm drainage, street trees, roadway lighting, irrigation, and sidewalks on both sides of the street.
