2024 Street Resurfacing Contract

Sealed bids for 2024 Street Resurfacing Contract will be received by the Town of Gibsonville in the Town Hall Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 129 West Main Street, Gibsonville, North Carolina 27249, (336) 449-4144 until 2 P.M., Thursday, May 9, 2024 and then publicly opened and read aloud.

The work will include the following items:

Milling existing asphalt pavement, full depth patching of existing pavement, utility adjustments, asphalt concrete surface course, shoulder, curb and ditch repair.

All bids must be in accordance with the Bidding Documents on file with the Town of Gibsonville and at the office of Alley, Williams, Carmen & King, Inc., Post Office Box 1179/ 740 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27216-1179.

Copies of Bidding Documents may be obtained from Alley, Williams, Carmen & King, Inc. at the address indicated herein. Digital versions of the same may be downloaded HERE.

Consideration will be given only to bids of Contractors who submit evidence that they are licensed under “An Act to Regulate the Practice of General Contracting”, ratified by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina on March 10, 1925, and as subsequently amended, when such Act is applicable.

Each Proposal shall be accompanied with a deposit of cash or CERTIFIED CHECK on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the Proposal, said check to be made payable to the Town of Gibsonville.

In lieu of the above cash or CERTIFIED CHECK, the bidder may execute a Bid Bond for the same amount.

Disadvantaged Business Enterprise provisions are included in the contract. The contractor should study and become familiar with these items.

An optional Pre-Bid meeting will be held at the Gibsonville Municipal Building, 129 West Main Street, Gibsonville, North Carolina 27249 on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 2:00 PM. All bidders are strongly encouraged to attend.

No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 30 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities, by order of the Board of Aldermen, Town of Gibsonville, North Carolina.

The Client, Contractor, Subcontractor or agent agrees to waive all claims against Alley, Williams, Carmen and King, Inc. (or its consultants) resulting in any way from the reuse of these drawings or data. In addition, the Client, Contractor, Subcontractor or agent, as applicable, agree, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to indemnify and hold harmless Alley, Williams, Carmen and King, Inc. (and its consultants) from any damage, liability or cost, including reasonable attorneys' fees and costs of defense, arising out of the use of these drawings. Under no circumstances shall transfer of the drawings and other instruments of service on electronic media for use by the Client, Contractor, Subcontractors or others be deemed a sale by Alley, Williams, Carmen and King, Inc., and AWCK makes no warranties, either express or implied, of merchantibility or fitness for any particular purpose.
