City of Thomasville – Nucor Sanitary Sewer Outfall

In 2021 and 2022, Alley, Williams, Carmen, & King, Inc. worked alongside the City of Thomasville and Davidson County to complete a sanitary sewer capacity study. The purpose of this study was to determine the available capacity within the City’s collection system and potential areas where larger infrastructure would be needed to facilitate a regional sewer system. The Nucor Sanitary Sewer Outfall is phase one of two which aims to expand the sewer collection system in the area of Silver Valley along US-64. The project consisited of the following:

  • 9,200 linear feet of 24-inch polyvinyl chloride (PVC) gravity sewer.
  • 2,200 linear feet of 4-inch high-density polyethylene (HDPE) force main.
  • .144 MGD Pump Station.
  • 5 road crossings.
  • Construction Start – 2/1/24
  • Substantial Completion Date 9/24
