Sealed bids for the Hanover Road Sewer Meter project will be received by the Town of Haw River in the Haw River Municipal Building, 403 E. Main Street, Haw River, North Carolina until 2:00 P.M., Revised Bid Date March 23rd, 2023 at 2:00 PM and then publicly opened and read aloud.

The work will include the following items:
• Installation of 2 EA – Metering Manholes with Trapezoidal Flume and Metering Equipment

Plans and specifications are on file for inspection at the Town Engineer’s Office, Haw River Municipal Building, 403 E. Main Street, Haw River, North Carolina and at the office of the Engineers in Burlington, North Carolina. Blank forms of Proposal, with Specifications and Plans, shall be obtained from Alley, Williams, Carmen & King, Inc.

Minority Business Participation provisions are included in the Bid Documents.
Consideration will be given only to bids of Contractors who submit evidence that they are licensed under “An Act to Regulate the Practice of General Contracting”, ratified by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina on March 10, 1925, and as subsequently amended, when such Act is applicable.

A pre-bid conference is scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 21st, 2023 in the Haw River Municipal Building, 403 E. Main Street, Haw River, NC.

Each Proposal shall be accompanied with a deposit of cash or CERTIFIED CHECK on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the Proposal, said check to be made payable to the Town of Haw River.

In lieu of the above cash or CERTIFIED CHECK, the bidder may execute a Bid Bond for the same amount.

No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities by order of the Town Council, Town of Haw River, North Carolina.

In addition, the Client, Contractor, Subcontractor or agent, as applicable, agree, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to indemnify and hold harmless Alley, Williams, Carmen and King, Inc. (and its consultants) from any damage, liability or cost, including reasonable attorneys' fees and costs of defense, arising out of the use of these drawings.
