21048 – City of Thomasville – Rains Road Pump Station Upgrade

RE-ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed Bids will be received by the City of Thomasville (Owner), 10 Salem Street, Thomasville, NC 27360, (336) 475-4210, at the office of the City Utilities Director, until 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 26^th, 2024, for the Rains Road Pump Station Upgrade project.

At said place and time, and promptly thereafter, all Bids that have been duly received will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The proposed work is generally described as follows:

Rains Road Pump Station Upgrade:

- Rehabilitation/Upgrade of existing Rains Road Pump Station, including:
  - Demolition of existing electrical and mechanical components
  - Epoxy coating of existing structures
  - Installation of new electrical and mechanical components for 1,740 GPM pump station
  - Installation of new barscreen structure and equipment
  - Installation of new permanent back-up diesel pump
- Installation of approximately 4,900 LF of 16” DIP forcemain, including:
  - Approximately 195 LF of 30” steel casing/16” DIP forcemain bore and jack road crossing
  - 2 EA – Approximately 50 LF of 30” steel casing/16” DIP forcemain open-cut road crossing
  - Installation of approximately 100 LF of 16” Class 56 DIP forcemain
- Temporary bypass pumping/piping required to keep existing pump station operational during construction of proposed work
- Northside Pump Station modifications, including:
- - Equalization basin structure
  - 12” & 16” DIP sanitary sewer & connection to existing structures

All bids must be in accordance with the Bidding Documents on file at the office of Alley, Williams, Carmen & King, Inc., Post Office Box 1179 / 740 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27216-1179.

Bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of North Carolina, duly licensed accordingly for the appropriate section of Bid.

A 5% Bid security must accompany each Bid.

Each Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Construction Performance Bond and a Construction Payment Bond as security for the faithful performance and the payment of all bids and obligations arising from the performance of the Contract.

A pre-bid meeting was previously held at City of Thomasville City Hall, 10 Salem Street, Thomasville, NC 27360 on Wednesday, October 23^rd, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. Attendance was optional. Pre-bid meeting minutes are provided in Addendum #1.

Disadvantaged Business Participation (DBE, MBE, WBE) provisions are included in the contract. The contract is expected to be funded through the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) program.

Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation the right to reject any or all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids, and to reject the bid of any Bidder if Owner believes that it would not be in the best interest of Owner to make an award to that Bidder. Owner also reserves the right to waive informalities.

If the Contract is to be awarded, Owner will give the Successful Bidder a Notice of Award within the number of days set forth in the Bid Form.

(and its consultants) from any damage, liability or cost, including reasonable attorneys' fees and costs of defense, arising out of the use of these drawings. Under no circumstances shall transfer of the drawings and other instruments of service on electronic media for use by the Client, Contractor, Subcontractors or others be deemed a sale by Alley, Williams, Carmen and King, Inc., and AWCK makes no warranties, either express or implied, of merchantibility or fitness for any particular purpose.
