Public Works Office / Shop Renovation & Storage Bldg. Addition
Sealed Bids will be received by the City of Mebane, 106 East Washington Street, Mebane, North Carolina 27302, until 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 23rd, 2026, for the “Office / Shop Renovations and Storage Bldg. Addition to Mebane Public Works Dept.”.
Pre-Bid Meeting
An open pre-bid meeting will be held for all interested bidders and vendors at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026, at the Mebane Public Works Department (636 Corregidor Street, Mebane, NC 27302). All bidders are strongly encouraged to attend.
At said place and time, and promptly thereafter, all Bids that have been duly received will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The project includes the following work:
• New office in Building # 1 (Base Bid): Office (Room # 104 in Sheet # A3) only. Work includes demolition of existing concrete slab to build four (4) column foundations, install four (4) steel columns with steel beams, floor joists, metal deck and concrete floor (as specified in sheet # S-2.1). Install metal stud walls with 5/8” gypsum wallboard, suspended acoustical ceiling panels, one hollow metal door, one window (type B), floor and wall finishes, air conditioning (split system) and electrical work (power & lighting).
• Lobby renovation in Building # 1 (Alternate): Area to renovate is approx. 117 sq. ft. and includes demolition of stud & masonry walls, construction of new 8” block walls, new casework and window for the reception counter, new floor / wall finish, suspended ceiling tiles and access control devices for two (2) doors.
• Addition to Building # 2 (Alternate): One-story building addition (approx. 2,440 sq. ft.) consists of a Pre-Engineered Metal Building (40’ x 60’) with wall / roof batt insulation with similar dimensions and roof slope as the existing building # 2.
All bids must be in accordance with the Bidding Documents on file at the office of Alley, Williams, Carmen & King, Inc., Post Office Box 1179 / 740 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27216-1179.

Bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of North Carolina; duly licensed accordingly for the appropriate section of Bid. Each Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a construction Performance Bond and a construction Payment Bond as security for the faithful performance, and the payment of, all bids and obligations arising from the performance of the Contract.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including – without limitation – the right to reject any or all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional Bids, and to reject the Bid of any Bidder if the Owner believes that it would not be in the best interest of Owner to make an award to that Bidder. The owner also reserves the right to waive informalities.
If the Contract is to be awarded, Owner will give the Successful Bidder a Notice of Award within the number of days set forth in the Bid Form.
