Groundbreaking - Adults Picture Groundbreaking - Kids PictureGroundbreaking for a new Community Center for the Town of Gibsonville, NC took place on August 15, 2016. Members of the Town Council, Town staff and many community leaders, joined Mayor Lennie Williams, Town Manager Ben Baxley and Recreation Department Director Mike Dupree for the ceremony. A crowd of about one hundred celebrated with the Town. The Community Center will consist of renovating a 5,320 square foot building formerly used by the Department of Public Works and an addition of 9,800 square feet. In addition to an 8,400 square foot gym/multi-purpose space there will be community meeting rooms and offices for the Parks and Recreation Department. Construction by Central Builders, Inc of Mebane is expected to be completed in May of 2017. Alley, Williams, Carmen, and King is excited for the construction to being and to work with the Town of Gibsonville.
