Clifton Mark Averette

It is with deep sadness that Alley, Williams, Carmen, and King, Inc. inform you (our clients and friends) that Clifton Mark Averette passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017. Mark was surrounded by his family and friends when he was called home to the Lord on Saturday after a long battle with cancer.

After 14 years with the City of Burlington’s Engineering Department, Mark joined Alley, Williams, Carmen, and King, Inc. in 1998. Mark worked on dozens of high profile engineering projects while at AWCK. His engineering excellence was exceeded by the care and kindness that Mark used in every conversation throughout his life. Mark was both a fond coworker and friend to everyone at AWCK as well as to everyone he met. Mark’s gentle soul and outstanding character made him an asset to the communities in which he served and to our profession. Mark mentored many of AWCK’s younger engineers and while we celebrate his reunion with the Lord, his passing will leave a hole in our hearts.

Mark is survived by his wife, Kim Suzanne Averette; daughters, Lauren Diane A. Marshall and husband, Josiah, Kaitlyn Michelle Averette; sister, Rebecca Ann A. Davis and husband, Todd and a brother, Paul K. Averette and wife Sharon

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. David Grinnell with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
